Disinfecting Black Quartz Countertops<\/p>\n

The following products are safe to use when disinfecting quartz countertops:<\/p>\n

Isopropyl alcohol, also known as rubbing alcohol, can be mixed with water to make an effective disinfectant. Mix 2 parts rubbing alcohol to 1 part water\u2014we recommend using a spray bottle\u2014and apply as needed. Be sure to remove any food from counters before cleaning and keep the area well ventilated.  <\/p>\n

Antibacterial dish soap and warm water will often do the trick and are safe to use on quartz countertops. Adding rubbing alcohol to the mixture can also increase its efficiency. <\/p>\n

What NOT to Use on Quartz Countertops<\/p>\n

Avoid using the following common disinfectants:<\/p>\n

Do NOT use Lysol, Clorox, or any products containing bleach or vinegar on quartz countertops, as they can cause permanent damage.<\/p>\n

Do NOT use harsh, acidic, or alkaline cleaners.<\/p>\n

Do NOT use nail polish remover.<\/p>\n

As mentioned above, while some of these products might be safe to use on quartz itself, they can etch or disintegrate the binders in between quartz pieces.<\/p>\n
