2. Are Natural Marble Tiles suitable for all floor surfaces?
• All marble stones need a hard concrete surface for installation. If stones are being installed on a raised floor, one must ensure that smaller-sized stones should be installed. This precautionary measure must ensure that the system below can take the additional weight of marbles.
3. What is a honed finish surface of Marble?
• A honed marble surface is where we (with machinery) remove the gloss or polish from the slabs to give the stone a more matt, smooth, satin finish. This finish is highly recommended for usable surfaces like kitchen benchtops as markings and etching from acidic properties show up less to the eye than they would on polished surfaces.
4. What is the best way to clean natural marble?
• The old rule of thumb is never to use anything you wouldn’t use on your hands. Never use powdered cleansers or abrasive pads to clean marble stone. Even ‘soft scrub’ type cleaners contain pumice, which is powdered volcanic stone, and might damage your stone kitchen cabinet table tops or floors. Never use any acidic cleaning product; this includes substances like ammonia or many common liquid cleaners available at the departmental stores. Always use sealers and cleaning products designed specifically for natural marble stone.
