Volga Blue Granite For Kitchen And Bathroom Countertop Slab
Volga Blue granite slab is a navy blue stone with white speckles throughout the surface. It can be used for nearly any home or business remodeling project and is ideal for kitchen countertops, bathroom countertops, backsplashes, fireplace surrounds, home bar tops, commercial bar tops and outdoor kitchen countertops.
Volga Blue granite slab, a Labradorite, is a very coarse-grained, dark blue-grey anorthosite often with bright blue iridescent reflectors. This stone internationally may be nominated as a granite but in the area of application of the European Standard this stone must be nominated as an anorthosite. The veining and color varies considerably and a small sample of Volga granite may not be representative of the whole slab therefore swatch samples must be approved for large projects to ensure that the blocks are all extracted from the same quarry face for matching purposes.
Volga granite can be a very problematical granite to process and may need resining and grassfire backing. There are several different Volga Blue quarries all producing slightly different colors and veining. Volga Blue granite is suitable for both interior and exterior use furthermore is frost resistant and with a constant polish.

Q1: What is the difference between marble and granite?
A: Although both are stones and both are quarried from the earth, granite and marble (and marble’s relatives ‘ limestone, onyx and travertine) are very different from each other. Granite is one of the oldest, most durable, and most respected building materials. Traditionally, it is the material chosen by both architects and engineers when permanence, enduring color and texture, and complete freedom from deterioration and maintenance are prime requirements. The marble family ‘ limestone, travertine, marble, and onyx ‘ starts out as sediment ‘ animal skeletons and shells, plant matter, silt ‘ at the bottom of bodies of water. After millions of years, this solidifies (lithifies) into stone. Because its main component is calcium, acids such as vinegar and citrus beverages can affect it.
Q2. How different will my order be from the sample I received?
A. Depending on the stone, granite can be highly variable in terms of colour and appearance (spots, some veining, etc.). ESTA Stone makes every attempt to keep samples consistent with the product for shipment, but variability is to be expected.
